ADMISSIONS

We provide a comprehensive educational program that engages and develops the whole child. Daily teaching and learning objectives focus on your child's development in the following areas: social, emotional, physical, cognitive creative, faith, morals, and spiritual formation. Many families enroll their children in our program because they are seeking a safe, nurturing, and spiritually enriching leanring environment for their children. For others, it’s our  highly qualified staff who equip students with knowledge and skills in the arts, athletics, and STREAM disciplines.

For others still, it’s our service programs that challenge students to cultivate leadership skills and Christian character development through service. Families stay because they realize we are unique in providing a truly excellent academic education grounded in the Christian faith and supported by a robust community of educators, administrators, coaches, mentors and peers. Here, academic rigor and faith development are in tandem. Both require wholehearted commitment — in the classroom, on the field or court, beneath the stage lights, in the shadows of serving others.

Contact our admission team, we are delighted to provide more information about The Shepherd's Academy and answer any questions. The best way to experience our school is to visit campus and meet some of the people who make it special. Schedule a shadow day, tour, or drop by for an open house. Interested in additional information: complete the contact form below or the enrollment application.

Philosophy of Education

It is our desire to provide a Christian environment which will afford the opportunity for your child to receive a Bible based education, from a Christian staff. It is our prayer that this will complement the Christian training you are providing in your home.
1) Jesus is preeminent in our instruction: We believe the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge and all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are in Christ, thus true learning cannot be achieved apart from Christian education. Proverbs 1:7; Colossians 2:3; Psalm 111:10

2) God has a plan and a purpose for you and your child’s life: We Believe a Bible based education is necessary to enable the children to reason from the Bible and discern the perfect will of God. Enabling both parent and child to understand they are created in Christ Jesus to perform works, which were appointed before the foundation of the world. Proverbs 4:20-22; Acts 17:28; Psalm 78:6,7; Ephesians 2:10

3) We are committed to being led by the Word and Spirit of God: We believe the Holy Spirit is the Teacher and the Revealer of all knowledge (spiritual and academic) and by His instruction and guidance; we will cultivate and encourage the development of God given gifts and talents within each child. John 14:26; Romans 12:1-8

4) The great commandment and the great commission are revealed in our instruction: The love of God is manifested as we teach the whole child (spirit, soul and body) considering their unique learning styles. We also share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the children in obedience to the scripture. Matthew 22:37-40; 28:16-20 We believe children should be encouraged to develop Christ like character qualities. Romans 8:28, 29 See TSA student outcomes.

What We Believe

The Scriptures...We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, the product of men of old who spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. The New Covenant (New Testament), we accept as our infallible guide in all matters of life and doctrine. (2 Timothy 3:16; I Thessalonians 2:13; II Peter 1:21)

The Trinity...We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit being coequal. (I John 5:4-8; Philippians 2:6) God the Father is the sender of the Word. (John 16:28; John 1:14) The Son is the Word made flesh and has existed with the Father from the beginning. (John 1:1; John 1:18; John 1:14) The Holy Spirit proceeds forth from both the Father and the Son and is eternal. (John 15:26)

Man, his fall and redemption...We believe in salvation is the gift of God to man, which we receive by faith in Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 2:8) Man is a created being, made in the likeness and image of God, but through Adam's fall, sin came into the world. "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God". Jesus Christ, came in the form of man and gave His life to restore us back to God, undoing the work of the Devil. (Romans 5:14; Romans 3:10 & 21-30; I John 3:8, Galatians 4:4-7).

Eternal life and the new birth...We believe in man's first step toward salvation is godly sorrow through repentance. The new birth is necessary for all men, and when experienced produces eternal life. (II Corinthians 7:10, I John 5:12; John 3:3-5; Romans 10:9-10)

Hell and eternal retribution...We believe in the one who dies in his sins without accepting Christ is hopelessly and eternally lost in the Lake of Fire and, therefore, has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel or repenting. The Lake of Fire is literal, the terms "eternal" and "everlasting", used in describing the duration of the punishment of the damned in the Lake of Fire, carry the same meaning of endless existence as used in denoting the duration of joy and ecstasy of the saints in the presence of God. (Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 20:15)

Water baptism...We believe in the baptism in water by immersion as a direct commandment of our Lord, and is for believers only. The ordinance is a symbol of the Christian's identification with Christ, His death, burial, and resurrection. (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4, Colossians 2:12; Acts 8:36-39)

Baptism in the Holy Spirit...We believe in the promise of the baptism in the Holy Spirit as a commensurate experience is available to all believers with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as well as the demonstration of spiritual power in daily life. (Acts 2:4;Acts 10:44-46; Acts 19:6; Acts 1:8; Mathew 3:11)

Sanctification...We believe in the Doctrine of Sanctification as a definite, yet progressive work of grace, beginning at the time of salvation, and continuing until the consummation of Christ's return. The Bible teaches that without holiness no man can see the Lord. (Hebrews 12:14; I Thessalonians 5:23; II Peter 3:18; II Corinthians 3:18; Philippians 3:12-14; I Corinthians 1:30)

Divine healing...We believe in healing for the physical ills of the human body, mind and spirit, and it is available to us by the power of God through the prayer of faith, and/or by the laying on of hands. Jesus Christ made this available to all believers at Calvary. (Mark 16:18; James 5:14-16; I Peter 2:24; Matthew 8:17; Isaiah 53:4-5)

Resurrection of the just and the return of our Lord...We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. (John 5:24, 28, 29) The angels said to Jesus' disciples, "This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven." When He comes, "...the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air..." (Acts 1:11; I Thessalonians 4:16-17) Following the Tribulation, He shall return to earth as King of kings, and Lord of lords, and together with His saints, who shall be kings and priests, He shall reign a thousand years. (Revelation 20:6)

The church…We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, and seek community together, to become more and more in every way like Christ who is the head of His body, the church. (Ephesians 4:16, Hebrews 10:25)

Marriage...God created and sanctioned marriage to bring together men and women, the complementary halves of humanity, by joining them in “one-flesh”unions. (Gen 2:18-25.) Marriage between one man and one woman for life uniquely reflects Christ’s relationship with His Church. (Eph 5:21-33.) Marriage also serves as the foundational unit of a stable society. (1 Cor 7:2.) Gender...We believe God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female, and these distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. (Gen 1:26-27.)

The statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe. For purposes of The Shepherd's Academy’s faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, our Executive Director and board of directors are our final interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and application.
